Financial aid
We offer various miliary scholarships:
- Active Duty Military Scholarship. This scholarship pays the difference between current standard tuition and $250 for qualified active duty service members. If you receive this scholarship, you may also be eligible for other military education benefits.
- Military Service Scholarship. If you or a member of your family suffered injuries in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we can help with the transition to civilian life. We award scholarships up to $5,000 to eligible students, depending on the student’s degree program.
- Military Advantage Scholarship. This scholarship is available to eligible active duty, active reserve, honorably discharged veterans, and spouses/dependents. The scholarship provides 10% of the cost of quarterly tuition and books to qualified students.
- Purple Heart Scholarship. This scholarship provides recipients (service members wounded or the families of those killed) with an amount that covers remaining tuition and fees once all federal and state aid has been deducted from the total.
Military services staff
Our military liaison staff members are available to help you explore the options available for funding your education. As retired military themselves, they understand your concerns and can answer your questions about financial aid, our college programs, the admissions process and almost anything else. And if they don’t know the answer to your question, they know how to find it.
College credit for your service training
In the course of military service, you received high-quality training. In addition to basic training, you may have completed specialized courses designed to prepare you for an assignment or deployment. At MSB-Moorhead, we offer college credit for military training and experience. Our military liaison staff can advise you about your eligibility and explain the process of applying for that credit.
Online college: the perfect solution for many military students
Our online division allows you to complete assignments, review course materials and communicate with instructors and classmates easily. All you need is access to the Internet and the ability to log into in the class as required by the instructor.
Accommodation for military students
When you are deployed in a war zone or elsewhere overseas, you may be assigned to missions that interfere with your studies. We know that military life is often unpredictable. We allow you to withdraw from your class or program without negative consequences to your academic record or military tuition assistance.
