A two-year accounting degree
A student may earn the AAS degree in just 21 months of full-time study. The program includes courses in basic business subjects as well as beginning and intermediate accounting and tax courses, including the following:
- Payroll
- Managerial Accounting
- Accounting Systems
- Tax
- Business Mathematics
Students take general education courses and complete an ACAT review course that prepares them for certifications from the Accreditation Council of Accounting and Taxation. They can also obtain certifications to become:
- Registered Accounting Practitioners (RAP)
- Enrolled Agents (EA)
We encourage students to apply for the Professional Certification Scholarship to help defray the costs of certification exams.
Upon graduation, students in the associate degree in accounting and tax will have the skills and knowledge they need and the ability to communicate effectively. They will be able to explain complex tax and other financial matters to clients, co-workers and management.
