Study one of six areas of emphasis

Our business management degree lets you focus on a specialty area. You can choose from the following areas of emphasis:

In the first two years of your program, you will complete basic business courses that cover a wide range of subjects, including the following:

  • Accounting
  • Business mathematics
  • Business communications and writing
  • Computer information systems
  • Business law
  • Supervision
  • Small business management
  • Human resource management
  • Operations management
  • Marketing

In the third and fourth years, you will take courses in your area of emphasis and relevant business electives. You will also complete general education courses and a career development class that will prepare you for your job search.

Business management available online

Core requirements and the emphasis classes are available through our online division. You can study whenever you have access to the Internet, save time and money on commuting and continue working full-time. Our robust student support system for online learners means that you can always find help with software or hardware problems or get answers to questions about using Blackboard, our online learning management system.

Career opportunities for graduates

Business Management students receive in-depth training in business planning, organizing, directing and controlling business functions. They are ready for management careers in their areas of focus and are positioned for further education and training. They may continue their educations and earn MBA degrees or MSM degrees online.  Credentials such as these open doors to career advancement.
