Information technology degrees at MSB
We offer associate (and bachelor’s degree programs in information technology, helping students get started on high-value careers.
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology A student can complete this “four-year” degree program in three years of full-time study. Graduates look forward to high-demand jobs such as:
- Computer support specialist
- Systems administrator
- Computer programmer
- Software engineer
- Database administrator
- Systems analyst
Students focus on areas such as database, networking, security and software development as they prepare to manage technology. They complete general education courses and take basic business classes that enhance their abilities to communicate effectively across corporate departments.
Associate in Applied Science in Information Technology A student can complete this “two-year” degree program in 18 months of full-time study, focusing on an area such as networking, security or software development. Graduates are prepared for careers in computer and network support or database development and administration. Like graduates of our bachelor’s program, they provide services to organizations in health care, business, education and government.
IT Certification – a valuable credential
Students who complete IT training at MSB prepare to take certification exams in areas related to specific courses. These include the following:
- Microsoft certification exams in Windows Server 2008 technology
- CompTIA certification exams in A+ Essentials, A+ Practical Application, Network+ and Security+
- Cisco certified network associate exam (CCNA)
- Oracle Dtabase 11g exam in SQL fundamentals I

Online college option
IT students are able to complete the bachelor and associate degrees through our online division. As distance learners, they save money on commuting and childcare costs.
